Woodworking at the Shed
Woodwork is the heart of the Ballina Community Mens Shed, with a well-equipped workshop and plenty of projects on the go. Men of all skill levels work side by side, learning from each other and taking their time to do things safely and properly.
Over the years, members have completed more than 250 orders for local community groups, including boomerang blanks for Bunjum Aboriginal Co-op, a chicken coop for a kindergarten and over 100 bird nesting boxes for wildlife projects. They also make quality wooden items for the markets – chopping blocks, candlesticks, coat hangers, toys and more – giving blokes a chance to create something solid while having a yarn and a laugh.
